Oh the waterfall of cleansing Grace! Welcome to my Grace blog. I hope to both share and start a dialogue
about Jesus Christ and how his life, relationships and teaching have a practical working value in our
everyday lives. To go beyond our belief of Jesus... and into our belief in Jesus. I hope we can learn more about how the finished work of Christ on the cross empowers his work in us in our daily lives. I hope we can grow in His Grace and Wisdom!
The name came from a Joseph Prince story in his book "Destined to Reign"...here's the story:
Prince tells the story of a young boy who found a rock out in the woods. Though it looked rough at first, he rinsed it in the small waterfall of a nearby stream. Turns out, the rock was marbly, smooth, and full of color.
Not wanting to lose the rock, and afraid someone would take it from him if he took it home, he buried it back in the dirt in a tucked away place before he went home for the night. There, he left it.
The next day, he returned to his rock. He dug it from the dirt, only to find it rough and jagged again… stained with mud. But, remembering the drill from the previous day, he walked to the river, splashed it under the waterfall, and out came a shining, gleaming rainbow-of-a-rock. He was pleased.
Pleased until he had to go home, that is. That meant he would leave the rock hidden in the dirt hiding place again. And again. And again. And again. It was a routine he repeated for days.
One day, though, the lad had an idea: rather than hiding the rock in the dirt, he discovered a place tucked beneath the waterfall- a crevice where the rock could stay lodged, a nook where water would wash over the rock the entire evening while he slept.
It worked like a charm. The next day he returned, pulled the rock out- and it was shiny, new! No more stains, no more scrubbing. No more “back and forth” from the dirt to the water to the dirt to the water to the dirt to the water…
Here’s what Prince says- “You are clean. You have been lodged under the waterfall of grace.

I'm starting this blog to help share the message of Jesus in the early church. ...the true gospel of grace... unmerited favor, right standing before God... despite our failures and shortcomings. to build our relationship with Jesus we must understand who we are in Jesus... how we are viewed by the Almighty. to better serve Him we must understand our position in his household. we must understand what is required of us... but sometimes more importantly... what is not required. our posture in relation to God... is crucial. we have been given sonship and daughtership and a high position in his Kingdom... we have become friends not enemies with God... we have been made new pure creatures by the blood of Jesus Christ. we are without blemish in the sight of God. yet we continue to live defeated lives... refusing a free gift of spiritual abundance and supernatural power. we view ourselves as unworthy or an exception to righteousness because of our past or present circumstances. no matter how much were told our sins have been erased... we keep them in the forefront of our mind. we dwell on what God has for gotten. we trade our robe of righteousness for rags... and our relationship becomes a to do list.
ReplyDeleteGood word. We all struggle with "spiritual amnesia" at times. We have to remember who He is and who we are in Him. That changes everything!
