The devil and the Tree

Do you see how the devil is defeated by the very weapons of his prior victory? The devil had vanquished Adam by means of a tree. Christ vanquished the devil by means of the tree of the cross. The tree send Adam to hell. The tree of the cross brought him back from there. The tree revealed Adam in his weakness, laying prostrate, naked and low. The tree of the cross manifested to all the world the victorious Christ, naked and nailed on high. Adam's death sentence passed on to all who came after him. Christ's death gave life to all His children. - John Chrysostom 347-407 - quoted from Mike Neglia's blog Isaiah 14:12 12. "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! 13. For you have said in your heart: `I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; 14. I will ascend above

Victory is ours!

Dear beloved, You are so precious to me and I am very thankful for you. As we remember the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, my heart is overflowing with thankfulness for His great love for us. Because of His perfect sacrifice on the cross, we can indeed live life with great expectation—of abundance, divine health, favor and provision. Because He was raised from the grave, we can be confident that Jesus' work in saving us is completely complete! That is the good news of the gospel of grace! Thank you for sharing our heart to spread the gospel of the Lord's amazing grace. The finished work of Jesus truly has the power to change the lives of people all over this world. It is because of your prayers, support and partnership that we are able to keep broadcasting and sharing this message. You share in all that God is doing through this ministry—seeing people set free from shame, guilt and condemnation to live lives filled with hope, joy and great expectati

Pray for our Leaders

1 TIMOTHY 2:1-2 NASB 1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. Believers have a responsibility to pray for their leaders. If you live in a country where you have the privilege of voting on your leaders, then you need to take that responsibility seriously, be informed and vote as the Lord directs you. Don't allow yourself to be swayed by the emotional tactics used in political campaigns, or vote based on your selfish interests. Vote as you believe the Lord would have you to vote. Vote for godly leadership. But don't stop at voting. Pray for public officials, especially those in high office whose decisions affect many people's lives. PROVERBS 29:2 LB 2 With good men in authority, the people rejoice; but with the wicked in power, they groan. SAY THIS: Father, I pray for godly

You are His Child

JOHN 1:12 NKJ 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: If you have received Jesus Christ, you are a child of Almighty God. ROMANS 8:16 NKJ 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 1 JOHN 3:2 NKJ 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. The words in the Bible are meant to reveal to us truth so we will picture it clearly in our minds. God used pictures of things we understand to communicate how He looks at us, and how He feels toward us. One of those pictures is that Father God wants you to see yourself as His child. That means He wants you to expect His protection, His provision, His training, and His love. For God is a perfect parent! No one expects a young child to provide for their own needs. Instead, we expect a child will b

God will never turn His back on You!

Hebrews 13:5 ...He Himself has said...I will never leave you nor forsake you. For six whole hours, the Son of God was suspended between heaven and earth. And at the height of His suffering on the cross, He cried out in the deep darkness, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:45–46) For the first time, Jesus addressed His Father as “God”. The Father had forsaken the Son. As Judge of the universe, God had to turn His back on His Son, who was carrying the filth of the world’s sins, for His eyes are too pure to behold evil. (Habakkuk 1:13) If the Father had not turned His back on His Son, He would have to turn His back on you today when you call out to Him in your hour of need. But because Jesus has taken your place, today, you take His place, and you have God’s face smiling on you always! Right now, God’s face is smiling on you. His countenance is shining on you. I can stand before you and declare, “The Lord make His face shine upon you.” (Numbers 6:25–26) And it is

LET GOD LOVE YOU

1John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. "You have to love God more! You must have more passion for God!” You have probably heard this type of preaching and may have even tried your best to love God, only to fail miserably. But what is the true definition of love? Let the Bible define it for us: “…this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us…” Yes, it is not about our love for Him, but His love for us! “Pastor Prince, the Bible says that you must love God with all your heart, soul and strength!” Yes, that is true according to the law (Deuteronomy 6:5), and even Jesus taught that as the great commandment when He walked on earth. (Matthew 22:37) But that was before He died on the cross. At the cross, He became the very fulfillment of this law for us when He loved us with all His heart, soul and strength, by laying down His body and life on the cross for us. Today, we are no long

Greater is He...in you

JOHN 4:4 NASB 4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. There are two vital points in this verse, which is addressed to believers. (If you have not welcomed Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into your life -- none of this applies to you until you make that decision.) FIRST, God is IN you -- not far off somewhere. Yes, God is in Heaven -- but that is not the only place He is. By the Holy Spirit, God now has His dwelling place in you! You don't have to "try to reach God." He is right there! What you need to do is to cultivate an awareness of His presence. This, along with communication, is the way to develop a closer relationship with God. Knowing that God lives in you, and that He loves you, should banish all fear from your life. Fear of failure should have no place. Fear of what other people think should not bother you. Fear of problems that may come up should be of no concern. You have

God’s Superabounding Grace For You

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.  If you were in the same synagogue as the man with the withered hand (Luke 6:6–11), how would you see him and what do you think you would say to him? Jesus was preaching in that synagogue when He saw the man with the withered hand. But He also saw superabounding grace around that hand for healing and wholeness. He sees differently from us. He sees the invisible. He sees that the kingdom of God is here, ever-present in any situation, with superabundant supply. We see only the visible, which is tangible, temporal and which seems so real to us. But Jesus saw superabounding grace on that withered hand for healing because you do not tell a man with a withered hand, “Stretch out your hand,” unless you see the supply, the superabundance for wholeness for that hand. Jesus called forth the superabounding grace to enve

Redeemed From Every Type Of Sickness

Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),  The One who cleansed lepers, opened blind eyes and made the lame to walk took your sins, sicknesses and every curse when He hung on Calvary’s tree. The curses that were meant for you because of your sins fell on Him instead. He was cursed in your place to redeem you from every curse that comes as a result of breaking God’s laws. What are these curses? They are listed in Deuteronomy 28. It is a long and detailed list. Don’t get frightened when you read the curses, but rejoice because Christ has redeemed you from every single one of them, including those curses of sicknesses! Are you stricken with tuberculosis, fever or inflammation? (Deuteronomy 28:22) Christ has redeemed you from every one of these conditions! Do you have painful boils, tumors or an itch which doctors say cannot be healed? (Deuteronomy 28:27)  Christ

You Have It, So Say It!

Matthew 25:29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.  Have you come across people who have little, yet even that little is taken away from them? On the other hand, there are those who already have much, yet they receive even more. Jesus said, “To everyone who has, more will be given. From him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.” Notice that Jesus doesn't go on to say what it is we have. He simply says, “But to everyone who has.”  Jesus is talking about a firm belief in God’s Word that gives one the courage to say, “I have it!” If you say that you have it, you have it, and more will be given to you. But if you say that you don’t have it, when you actually do because God has freely given us all things (Romans 8:32), then even what you have will be taken away—not by God but by the devil!  The devil does not want you to walk in God’s blessings. So

How Do You See God?

Luke 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”  The way you see Jesus, the revelation that you have of Him, will not affect God’s acceptance of you. But it will affect your acceptance of what God has for you. It will affect how you receive from Him. Consider the Roman centurion who told Jesus, “You don’t have to come to my house. Just speak the word and my servant at home will be healed.” (Luke 7:6–7)  Compare him with Jairus, the ruler of a synagogue, who told Jesus, “My daughter is dying. Please come to my house and lay Your hands on her, and she shall live.” (Mark 5:22–23)  Do you know that Jesus does not have to go to your house to heal you? So why did Jesus follow Jairus to his house? Jesus had to come down to Jairus’ level of faith. Jairus believed that his daughter could be healed, but only if Jesus came and laid His hands on h

‘I Will Be Your God’

Hebrews 8:10 …and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.  When God says, “I will be your God,” that is a declaration that He will work miracles in your life. So if it is a miracle you need, it is a miracle you will get! If there is a huge sea blocking the way to your blessing and God says, “I will be your God,” it means that He will open the sea for you so that you can receive your blessing.  If you are poor and God says, “I will be your God,” it means that you will be well-provided for. Since God fed nearly three million Israelites in the wilderness every single day for 40 years, you can be sure that God will provide for you too.  If you are sick and God says, “I will be your God,” it means that He is going to be “the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26), and you will be healthy. If you have incurred a huge debt and God says, “I will be your God,” it means that He will bring about a supernatural cancellation of your debt. But not only did God say, “I will be th

I Now Believe God Loves Me

1 JOHN 4:16  So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.  Although I have endeavored to walk with the Lord for awhile, only in recent times have I started to really believe God loves me. My problem was that I kept focusing on myself, instead of God. I saw myself in my immaturity with all my faults and failures. I was not looking at Jesus the perfect sacrifice, but focused on myself and my shortcomings.  Even though I spread messages on the love of God, I never had confidence that God truly loved me just as I was. Instead I thought more in terms of God tolerating me, but not being too happy with me. I was trying my best to do what I thought God wanted, not really realizing that I could never earn God's love.  Now I am realizing that God's love is not dependent on me, but is entirely dependent on God alone. He does not love me because I am lovable, but because by na

You Have The Victory!

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  If God’s Word says that we are more than conquerors through Christ, then we are. We are not going to become, we already are. We may be experiencing some failures or setbacks in life right now, but only good will come out of our situations because God says that “in all these things we are more than conquerors”. We have the victory! You see, God has placed us in Christ, whom He has exalted to the highest place in the universe. We are not trying to get to victory ground. We are already on victory ground. We don’t confess God’s Word to get victory. We confess His Word because we already have the victory. We don’t fight for victory. We fight from victory.  The devil will try to steal our victory. He will come against us with lies and fears, and cause us to be conscious of our failures, weaknesses and symptoms in areas such as our health. But we are not trying to be healed. We are alrea

Fear Of The Lord

PROVERBS 9:10 NKJ  "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.  I look at fearing God like a young child would look at a good father: He is not going to harm me -- but He won't permanently let me get away with anything, either.  While God's wisdom may cause Him to not always immediately respond to our wrong-doing, we can be sure that eventually God will deal with us. We can be confident that we do not have to be afraid of God because He has revealed His nature to us through the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, God is all-knowing and powerful beyond our imagination, so we should not think we can rebel against God and get away with it, either.  ISAIAH 8:13 NLT  Do not fear anything except the LORD Almighty. He alone is the Holy One. If you fear him, you need fear nothing else. God has never been wrong, and you won't be the first to outsmart Him. God's way is perfect, so when we scorn God's wisdom and g

Come As You Are And Receive

Matthew 15:27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”  Come as you are to the Lord with your need, and lean on His unfailing and unconditional love for you. You don’t have to pretend to be more than what you are to receive the blessing you need from God. You don’t have to pretend to be someone else to appear more deserving to receive from God.  A Canaanite woman desperately seeking healing for her demon-possessed daughter came to Jesus. (Matthew 15:22–28) Knowing that He healed and did miracles among the Jews, she pretended to be a Jew, calling out, “O Lord, Son of David!” (Only the Jews addressed Jesus as the “Son of David”.) Jesus did not answer her. His silence made her drop her pretense and cry out, “Lord, help me!” Only when her pretenses had melted away did she see the grace of God extended to her. Jesus made a way for her to receive her miracle even though it was not yet time for the Gentiles to receive His

Jesus Revealed God To Us

2 CORINTHIANS 4:4  4 The devil who rules this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe. They cannot see the light of the Good News -- the Good News about the glory of Christ, who is exactly like God.  What is God like?  Before Jesus of Nazareth came on the scene, the human concept of God was a bit fuzzy. (It still is for those who have not understood this truth.) But Jesus perfectly revealed to us what God is like. He was (and is) Heaven's perfect representative  COLOSSIANS 1:15 No one has seen God, but Jesus is exactly like him. Christ ranks higher than all the things that have been made.  COLOSSIANS 1:15 Christ is the visible representation of the invisible God, the Firstborn and Lord of all creation.  HEBREWS 1:3  He brightly reflects God's glory and is the exact representation of His being, and upholds the universe by His all-powerful word. After securing man's purification from sin He took His seat at the right hand of the Majesty on hig

You Are A Citizen of Heaven

PHILIPPIANS 3:20   But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. As a believer in Jesus Christ, you have a new citizenship. Your name is written in Heaven. Heaven is your homeland. Because you are its citizen, Heaven is responsible for you. If necessary, Heaven will send its soldiers (angels) to assist you, and when necessary, to evacuate you. Although we live on earth, we operate under the laws of our homeland, Heaven, as well as the laws of earth.  As a citizen you have certain rights and obligations. To understand them you need to read the Bible with the help of illumination by the Holy Spirit. You need to ask the Lord to teach you and give you understanding of these things.  COLOSSIANS 1:13  He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, As believers, we are no longer under the authority or control of the devil. We have been transferred into a new

Live The ‘Much More’ Life

Romans 5:17 17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ…  When God created man, He did not intend for man to grow old, become weak and powerless, suffer diseases and die—first the physical death, then the second or eternal death. God never meant for man to go through all these and for death to reign. But because of one man’s offense—that man being Adam—death reigns. The ultimate death is the second or eternal death in the lake of fire. Before this death is physical death. Before physical death, you have diseases and illnesses. Not all diseases and illnesses lead to death, but they are manifestations of death. One step before diseases and illnesses is tiredness, weakness and powerlessness, which are signs and symptoms of death. Now, all these are forms of death.  As you can see, death reigns! Are you resigned to the fact tha

God Is Not Judging You

Romans 8:  33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.  Some people see God as a judge who has exacting demands on man. When they fall short or when things go wrong in their lives, they think that God is judging them. My friend, the truth is that if you are a believer, God does not bring any charge against you. Instead, He justifies you because of the blood of His Son.  In fact, God’s Word goes on to say that the One who has the right to condemn you, chose instead to die for you and is risen at the Father’s right hand to be your righteousness! (Romans 8:34) But what the devil tries to do is to get you to believe that God watches you with a critical eye and punishes you when you do wrong. He has deceived many sincere Christians into believing that if they have done something wrong, sickness or some other evil thing has a right to come upon them and their families. And when these things happen, he convinces them that they are suffering God’s judg

God's Word Will Make You Free

John 8:31-32 NRSV  31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."  Notice carefully what Jesus actually said. It is not those who "start in the word" or "try the word for awhile" who will be made free. You must continue in Jesus' message -- His Word. It must be His accurate message -- not just someone's idea of it, or tradition.  Some translations use the word "abide" instead of "continue." Abide means to stay somewhere continually. Either way, the meaning involves staying with it. Note that Jesus said in verse 32, "and you will KNOW the truth . . ." Just hearing the truth does not necessarily make you free. You must KNOW that it is the truth.  When you KNOW something, you will act on it. If you are not acting on something, you do not yet truly KNOW it. You act on what you know

The Antidote To Fear

1 John 4:18  18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…  Experts tell us that babies have two natural fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. A study on fear was conducted on 500 adults of varying ages, backgrounds and lifestyles. The results showed that they shared some 7,000 different fears. This means that they must have learnt 6,998 fears since they were born. That is a lot of fears!  Actually, our bodies are designed for faith. Fear was foreign to man until Adam sinned against God. For the first time, Adam knew fear, and he hid from God and said, “I heard Your voice… I was afraid… I hid myself.” (Genesis 3:10) Since then, man has been living in the realm of fear — fear of the future, fear of what others might say, fear of diseases, fear of flying… Actually, every fear is born out of the feeling of being cut off from God. If you think that God is still mad at you, that He is out to punish you, how can you have faith that everything will

God Is Dependable

With His Word God gave us a firm foundation to base our life on. Something absolutely unchanging. Something God Himself will never change. So we can be certain about God's will. If we want to know God's will, we only need to see what He said in His Word, the Bible.  PSALM 138:2b NLT  2 I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. The integrity of God is wrapped up in His Word; if He did not keep His Word He would be a liar -- and that will never happen!  PSALM 89:34 NLT 34 No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said. God will not change the words He has spoken. God will never break His Word. God will always do what He said He will do.  NUMBERS 23:19 NLT 19 God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? God never lies! He is always aler

What Is On Your Heart?

Hebrews 8:10 10“… I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts…”  Many of us have been taught that we cannot trust our hearts. We quote verses like “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked…” (Jeremiah 17:9), not knowing that Jeremiah was referring to the man who had not received Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  I have had people come to me and say, “Pastor Prince, I don’t know what I should do with my life.” “What is on your heart?”  I asked one of them. “I would love to work among children.” “Then work among children!” “But I am waiting on the Lord to tell me to do that.” “Well, He has given you the desire, so go and work among children!” “But the desire comes from my heart. How do I know if it is of God?” My friend, once you are saved, you have a brand new heart (Ezekiel 36:26), and you can trust the promptings of your heart because God dwells in you and He leads you from within. And don’t worry because His promptings will n

Covered, Protected, Delivered

Exodus 13:21  21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.  When the children of Israel were wandering in the desert, God led them by going before them in a pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night. By day, God spread the pillar of cloud as a covering over His people in the desert to prevent the scorching sun from striking them down. The people were shaded and kept cool.  Today, you are also under His covering. He will not allow you to be struck down (Psalm 121:3–8), nor be oppressed by the “heat” of the day. (Isaiah 54:14) At night, when the desert became dark and cold, God gave His people the pillar of fire to light the way for them, as well as to keep them warm and safe.  Today, as you walk with God, you will not be overwhelmed by the cold, dark places in life because God’s Word says, “You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not o

God Is Not Guilty

JOB 40:8  8 Are you going to discredit my justice and condemn me so that you can say you are right? Many are quick to blame God for all the bad things in their life and in the world. "After all, God is ultimately responsible, isn't He?"  Is a parent responsible for the choices their grown children make? Certainly, they had influence in raising their children. But ultimately, each human makes their own choices and we are each responsible for our own actions. We cannot blame our parents -- our spouse -- or anyone else. If we choose to do wrong, it is our choice. People are guilty. The devil is guilty. Not God.  "But what about storms, earthquakes, and such?" Jesus rebuked the storm in Luke 8:24. Are we to believe that Jesus was rebuking something that God was responsible for? Although it is not clear now to most people, one day it will be clear to all: God is not guilty of anything. The devil and people shoulder the blame for all the heartache, misery,

The Unjust Judge

Jesus told a parable about a widow and an unjust judge which some have misunderstood. We need not harass God until He finally gives in and answers our prayers. LUKE 18:1-8 NKJ 1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, 2 saying: "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. 3 "Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying,'Get justice for me from my adversary.' 4 "And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself,'Though I do not fear God nor regard man, 5 'yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.'" 6 Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. 7 "And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? 8 "I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find f

God Can Use Those Whom The World Rejects

1 Corinthians 1:26  26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. You may think that you are a nobody, maybe even a has-been or a loser in the eyes of the world. Take heart because God’s Word says that if you are not wise, not mighty or not noble according to the flesh, then you are a prime candidate for Him to call on! And when He begins to use you, you will see His favor, power and increase change your life. In the eyes of the ancient world, Moses was the rising star of Egypt. The Bible tells us that in the first 40 years of his life, “Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds”. (Acts 7:22) But God could not use him then because he was too smart, strong and full of himself. It was only 40 years later, after having been in the unglamorous desert of Midian, emptied of himself and thinking that he was a has-been, that God sent him to confound the mi
